When you’re a 22 year old kid who is just about to graduate college, everyone around you tells you the same thing, “Get a job at a big company, work your way up, build your 401k, work for the next 40+ years and then retire.” But why does everyone tell you the same thing? Why does everyone say you NEED to work a 9 to 5 job to be successful? Well, they don’t actually tell you that you need the 9 to 5 job to be successful, they just tell you that you need benefits and that’s why you need that 9 to 5. Well I’ve done the 9 to 5 and I’m here to tell you this, you will never experience true freedom until you’ve broken the shackles of the 9 to 5 world.
Look, there are benefits to the 9 to 5 life. There’s the security, the health benefits, a steady paycheck and the paid time off. But are you enjoying life? Are you actually doing what you want to do and doing it on your own terms? I’ve lived a 9 to 5 life and I can tell you both of those answers are probably a NO.
The people who tell you that you need to be in the 9 to 5 rat race are the people who only know what it’s like to live in that world. They can’t fathom taking a risk and becoming an entrepreneur. Why? Because they’ve never done it themselves. It scares them, so in return they project it back on you and tell you what they think you need. But what you need to do is listen to yourself. Do what you want to do and live life on your own terms. There are too many things that I couldn’t do when I was at my 9 to 5 that the pros of leaving outweighed the cons.
And that is why I’m writing this blog and that’s why I’m starting a series called, “Things I Couldn’t Do at My 9 to 5”. I’ll document what I’m doing throughout my day on instagram and show you how I’ve been freed from the 9 to 5 corporate world to live life on my terms and be able to work from anywhere I want. Follow @stevearmato on instagram and Lark Media on YouTube for the episodes beginning this week. And if you have any questions on how to leave your 9 to 5 just go to our contact page, send them in and I’ll be happy to answer them.
Remember, freedom is the end game, not money. If you’re living for money you’ll never get it. But if you’re living for freedom, you’ll get everything you want. Watch the intro video below and subscribe to our YouTube Channel!
